African Flower Hexagon Bag

  Ever since I saw one crazy colorful bag, I couldn't sleep well... ha ha ha... This an amazing color combination gave me no rest!  I immediately decided to make a similar bag for myself! For the hexagon pattern I have chosen an African Flower. I love love love that hexagon! Here I found one beautiful tutorial of it. In fact, I find it easier for me to crochet using a graphical diagram...
And now is the time to show you my new bag! There is a lot of pictures... I can't make a choose which ones show you and which ones not... therefore, I invite you to enjoy all the pictures!

I'm stuck inside the bottom corners and sewed them to the bottom.

I'm not going to attach the lining... I like the bag that way!
A hook is E/3.5mm. A Yarn I've used is Russian mercerized 100% cotton Uspeshnaya(Успешная) by Pehorka(Пехорка). The yarn is thin(220m/50g), therefore I've used it 2 strands together.

I have a colorful lovely bag! Hurray! Now I'm calm! And happy! And Easter is Coming Soon and I have in my mind at least two crochet projects. And as well a couple of other craft things that have to do with my daughters. My oldest boys 11 y.o. and almost 14 y.o. hardly join us   :(
  Forgot to share the joy... We have sunny fine warm weather the last 5 days!
So have a sunny day each day!

 P.S. Just now I noticed that some pictures are repeated in the collages. Sorry about that... Xx

Heart Garland

A long time ago I promised to show you hearts. Do you remember this post about the many of my WIPs... So, number 6 is finished some time ago. It is a Heart Garland! I have planned to make it for the Valentine's Day, but I have overestimated the my speed of crochet and the amount of my free time. hehe.  Therefore the garland was ready for the first day of March.

My inspiration comes from here.

The yarn I've used is Acrylic chunky yarn the following brands: Stylecraft Special, Stylecraft Baby, King Cole Big Value, Hayfield Bonus, Tivoli Eurospun Block Buster. With a hook J/6mm.

I really like the image below! I like how the white border of hearts and the thread stands out nicely on a dark background...

And here is my oldest daughter Anastasia on St.Patrick's Day Parade.

Have a nice and sunny day!
And thank you for stopping by!

St.Patrick's Day. Waiting...

  St. Patrick's Day coming very very soon, so I made a Shamrock garland  There in the Web probably you've seen a lot of patterns how to do, but I have chosen this one.  So easy to crochet... so quickly... such a nice result! And also I made one necklace for my daughter, she went with it to school today.

As well you can see a Leprechaun hat on the pictures. It's my trial result... yet without the golden buckle.

Our house is a little bit decorated with paper Shamrock leaves, do you see one of them on the mirror on the above picture? The same leaves are attached to windows in our living room and the front door. And my little daughter is constantly breaks them out ... Tivoli Eurospun Block Buster Chunky

One More Granny Squares Project

I have another new project... Ooooh... One skein(200g) of so beautiful multicolored Marble Chunky yarn by James C.Brett waiting me for a while... So the time has come. I took my 6mm hook and have made a few simple grannies in 9 rounds(the last of rounds is the border)... Look!

And I need your advice, please. Which color should I use for the border? I more liked with black. What you would  advise me? Black or white? Oops... I forgot to tell you that it will be a big blanket for my bed. I guess the size will be 7 squares to 9 squares.
About yarn... I like to work with any multicolored yarn! The item with it turns out colorful, and I needn't to hide a lot of yarn tails...

I wish you a nice sunny weekend!
See you soon... xx

About Yarn and New Blanket

   Many thanks my dear readers for your sweet comments for my post about my new Spring Granny Blanket!!! It's nice to know that you are reading my blog and find a couple of minutes to write some nice words! I'm so happy reading you comments! Thank you again!
   And about the yarn I used to my Spring Blanket - it is German acrylic yarn I bought in the ALDI supermarket. A few times a year there sell some kind of yarn. And yes, Anne, this yarn changing colors of itself.

Lovely yarn, isn't?  Some time ago I made with it a few things.

The set I gave to my friend's daughter. And the earflap hat is still with me. I try to sell it, but nothing worked.

   Looking on one of the pictures in previous post  Helen asked me about something beside the my bed - yes, it's the future blanket I make within the project A Granny a Day 2012. I write about it in my other page. Have you looked there? If no, take a look on the button A Granny a Day under the header of my blog. Just yesterday I have added a new picture. And a few pictures here...

Spring Granny Blanket

Hurray! My granny square blanket is fully completed! A first time I made such a big blanket!

Spring Granny Blanket

The size is 140cm*175cm.

Spring Granny Blanket

The colours of the blanket I've been associated with a spring.

Spring Granny Blanket

I like the colours!

Spring Granny Blanket

 I like the dimension!

Spring Granny Blanket

I love this blanket because it's FOR ME!!!

Spring Granny Blanket

It is so cool to wrap myself from head to toe... m-m-m... so nice... Or seat under it with my lovely girls together... Or with my husband...

Spring Granny Blanket

So the blanket contains 8*10 squares. Each square contains 7 rounds. The first three rounds are a circle, 4th round forms a square  with trebles in corners. Below is a description. Contact with me, please, if there is something wrong you notice.

US symbols:
dc - double crochet
tr -  treble crochet
ch - chain

Ch 4 joining in ring;
1 rnd: 12 dc in ring;
2 rnd: in each of 12 spaces between the stitches - [2 dc together, ch 1];
3 rnd: in each of  ch-1-spaces - (3 dc, ch 1);
4 rnd: working in each ch-1-space. *In 1st space to form a corner (3 tr, ch 2, 3 tr), ch 1. In each of  next 2 spaces (3 dc and ch 1). From * repeat 3 more times;
5 rnd: working in each ch-1-space. *(3 dc, ch2, 3 dc) for a corner, ch1. In each of  next 3 spaces (3 dc and ch 1). From * repeat 3 more times;
6 rnd: working in each ch-1-space. *(3 dc, ch2, 3 dc) for a corner, ch1. In each of  next 4 spaces (3 dc and ch 1). From * repeat 3 more times;
7 rnd is a joining round.
How to join squares with my most liked join-as-you-go-method.

About the border. It is so simple. Just 3 dc and ch 1, 3 dc and ch 1, etc... And in corners 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc. As many rounds as you want. But I made 10 rounds.

And below is a graphic pattern (in U.S. symbols) of the square in which I drawn only 5 rounds. The round 6 and 7 you will continue in the same manner as round 5.

After I finished this blanket, I felt I am empty... A few days I didn't crochet anything... Only thinking about my unfinished projects. Which of this will be next... So I decided to take up African flower hexagons. It will be a bag!

See you soon with a heart garland I finished a few days ago!
I wish you a spring sunny day!
