Granny Stripe Blanket!

Hello my friends!
The last two weeks while I had no posts to my blog I did my wip projects. The first is a Granny Stripe Blanket which is fully done.  It is my first project with which I have reduced a little bit my big stash of yarn. I'm so happy about that! While I've crocheting my Granny Stripe I had no idea totally to whom it will be. Until one day my DH(Dear Husband) said me about so pretty colors of blanket and asked me to give him it. So I decided to present him this blanket. And now he is so happy too.  :)

Granny Stripe Blanket
The dimension is 100*150cm.

I've used a Baby 100% Acrylic yarn with a 6 mm hook.

Below is a graphic pattern of the border.

At the pattern you can see two circles on a top of each cluster, that means a piсot: chain 2, sleep stitch in first chain.
Now I'm working with other granny square blanket, which progress I'll show you next time. Also I start to make a shawl to my Dear Living-Far-Away Mammy.

Sunny days for you, my dears!

P.S. Tomorrow my daughter Anastasia will take part in Irish Dance Competition... And I wish
her to dance as good as she can...

Hand Dyed Yarn

Hello my dears!
Searching the web I often saw gorgeous hand dyed yarn. These colouring amaze my imagination - these are so unusual and different, that's way one day I felt that I really really really want to make MY hand dyed yarn. I never do it. But I really wanted to do it! I found at home only one skein of undyed Latvian wool, about which I've written here. I went to the usual food store and bought there food colourings. There were only three colors - yellow, red and green.
And that's what I did...

MY FIRST HAND DYED YARN

I'm so proud of my work!!!
I was very thrilled and excited making it... I was running around my kitchen as a child... Time after time my DH(Dear Husband) was in a kind giggling at me... :-)
But I still don't know what could I do with them... I made a couple of motives only, just to see a colour pattern.

I forgot to tell you that before I started to dye my wool I spent a lot of time searching the Web to get an infomation how-to-do. And of course I share with you a couple of links without which I wouldn't have done my first hand dyed wool. Look here the best description for me, and look here  and here also.

Do you want to try to do it? I advise you! You will get a lot of fun!
I wish a good week for you!

Shell Stitch Poncho

Hello my friends!
A big big thanks to everyone for visiting and commenting my blog.
About comments to my previous post about Diamond Black. Yes yes... I do agree... it's not easy to crochet black yarn... But! It is worth it! I like black crochet things! These are so elegant!
About Siga's comment - I have a DH(Dear Husband)  :-)  by which I have some free time to do all my crochet and other things, including blogging... I spend about 1,5-2 hours for writing one post, due to my English...  :-(
So...
Today I present you my new project, which was completed in December of last year.
It is a Shell Stitch Poncho.

I've made it for my friend's daughter. Her name is Megan.
The coloration of poncho is her choice. She is 7 years old, she goes to school with my eldest daughter Anastasia.

Shell Stitch Poncho

And now Megan is very happy with poncho! I know... It makes me very happy too!
In addition I'm very very very glad that I have friends for which I can do things that I like to do! (is that a quibble???)

Shell Stitch Poncho

I took Acrylic yarn using 2 strands of it together.

A hook is 6mm.

By the way Anastasia asked me to do exactly the same... Although she has the same I've made some time ago.

Ripple Blanket

Hurray! Finally I finished my Ripple Blanket! It happens one week before the New Year.
Here is my post when I began to make my blanket.
Oops... forgot to tell you Hello...
Hello my friends!!! Today is Friday! The last weekend before my kids will continue their usual school days after Christmas!

And here is my 3rd blanket, which is for my younger girl Alisha. But... but... but... I think that she doesn't need it yet. Sometimes I wrap it on myself while I'm watching TV, crocheting or both together... :-)
Look!

Total 21 shades of color.

Size 80*115cm.

Each color's stripe repeated twice at random.

The graphic pattern I used you can find here, in so colorful Le monde de Sucrette's blog.

With a hook 4.5mm I cast on ch 133. Total 12 rapports. Each rapport contains 11 stitches. 12*11 + 1.

The acrylic yarn I used(400g,+65g for the border) is mostly James C.Brett Top Value DK.

And below is a graphic pattern of the border:

I wish you a nice weekend!!!
By the way, what about your Christmas tree? Is it still  in your house? And our Christmas tree is still here. I plan to remove it next week. And I will try to sweep away pine needles from different angles...

A Few New Projects

Hi everyone!
In the New year I decided to spent all my stock of yarn, which is stored around my house... So a few new projects as I promised before. It's three new blankets!

Number one! A simple Granny Stripe blanket! It will be a 100*150cm. The yarn I use is chunky with 6mm hook, so I think the work will go quickly. It is very important for me - the speed, because in my head I have some more new projects!!!

The how-to-do pattern I looked here. It's easy as usual for me. And I think that some of you also used this pattern.

Number two! A Hexagon Blanket! The yarn is baby acrylic in baby colors like the Number one blanket.
I don't know about dimensions of finished blanket and I don't know for whom it will be... As it will turn... The pattern is very easy(again!) - a circle, which turned out to be a hexagon in the last join-as-you-go-round. A bit later I'll draw the graphic pattern that may be useful to some of you, my dears...

                                                                               ***

Number tree! A Granny Squares blanket! The yarn I use is so soft and it's so nicely to hold it in my hand...
I adore to work with this kind of yarn - I'm about the color - when one color goes in another color etc... Very interesting to watch what the color pattern turns out.

This blanket I started to do with yellow squares and couldn't decide which pattern to use - so all yellow squares you see in this picture - all of them are different.

I think I'll do this blanket for myself. I think so... May be... I don't know really... ha ha ha...

The square has seven rounds + the last one join-as-you-go-round. I'll draw the graphic pattern later.
Have a good day! Kisses...
