Slippers and (c)owls :)

The evenings will be even colder than now very soon, so it's time to think of something warm for our feet... Thinking about socks I don't want to knit but want to crochet them. I've never done this. So I decided to try it for me. But  a pair of slippers, no socks. I chose DROPS Crochet Slippers. I took a pure Latvian wool yarn. May be you remember my only one experience in a hand dyeing yarn? I took this yarn and another in light pink color and was crocheting holding two strands of these yarn together with a 6mm hook. It came a nice color combination. Actually the slippers are ready a while ago. Well... my feet doesn't feel cold at the evenings while I'm crocheting something else.

Also the second pair for my 3 y.o. daughter. With a flower in her favorite green color.

Sitting in my new warm slippers on a couch I have crocheted a lot of different hats and scarves. I've started selling my work!  I dreamed about it... So that's why I forgotten about my blog. Some news I'm writing on my Facebook or sharing photos at my Instagram. And now I'm dreaming about my own shop on Etsy or Dawanda.
In these dreams one day I found a lovely blog Repeat CrAfter Me, where Sarah shares with us her crochet, baking and other DIY ideas. And I found there a nice crochet pattern for the owl earflap hat. And I made 12  hats so far..... First of them of'course for my daughter(I'm writing about it here), and the rest of them I was doing to order... I can't believe... And I need to show you some of them....

Crochet Owl Hats

I've worked with chunky yarn and a 5,5 mm hook or DK yarn holding two strands together.

Crochet Owl Hat 2

Also I fell in love with the cowls! The granny stripes or granny squares...
The first I made with 7 granny squares in 6 rounds each + 1 round for the border on each side. (my WIP short post here)

Granny Square Cowl

Granny Square Cowl 2

The following two cowls are granny stripes, for which I began with ch 150 joining in a ring with DK yarn and a 5,5mm hook. Then 3 dc in each 3rd stitch around, join. Then in the each of the rounds 3dc in the space between of the each 3dc-clusters.

I made 14 rounds in total.

Yesterday I've finished another three owl hats and now I can continue to work on a diagonal stitch scarf for me --->

or may be it will be a cowl... again... :))

See you soon...
Have a wonderful week with a nice weather!

Шапка-Сова. Процесс...

Привет!
Приношу извинение тем, кто привык читать мой блог на английском языке. Этот пост я пишу на русском, т.к. решила принять участие в проекте Вяжем шапку-сову. Лена, спасибо за приглашение!

03-3

Присоединяйтесь!

Crochet Owl Hat wip

Early in the morning ...

This morning I woke up too early. Everyone was still asleep and I went for an inspiration on Pinterest and then on my favorite blogs. As a result I began to crochet granny squares cowl. I took my bright variegated yarn and for the first time I decided to try work with DK yarn using a 5,5 mm hook instead of 4mm. And I loved the result! The squares turns loose and pliable, that will be very well for the cowl.

Have a wonderful and happy day!

Owls... and more...

There are a lot of crochet Owl Hats on the internet... Of course, I couldn't resist and made two of them - for my daughters! For the first - Alisha's Owl - I used this lovely description, also I stole the color combination (I do it often lately)  :))

Alisha's Owl Hat_1

Made in Hdc with a 4 mm hook and Stylecraft Special DK acrylic yarn.
Wooden buttons for the eyes.
Now looking at the photo I think the bigger eyes size will be better.

Alisha's Owl Hat_2

For the second - Anastasia's Owl - I used this pattern. I picked the colors of the hat according to Anastasia's winter coat coloration.

Anastasia's Owl Hat_1

This hat is crocheted in Dc with a 5,5 mm hook and King Cole Big Value Chunky acrylic yarn.

Anastasia's Owl Hat_2

And... and... and... I'm thrilled because I got my first order for three hats! plus matching scarves. So I was a little busy last week crocheting them. Now they are finished and I can relax...

Here they are.

Colors... Colors... Colors...

I've been crocheting and even knitting a lot recently and I absolutely have no time to write about it...  :(
I have: many desires;
I don't have: enough time to do all this.
Also I'm trying to sell my crochet works or may be crochet to order. Therefore I created a Facebook page. The page is still fairly empty, I will be adding my works gradually.

So  a little bit of my crochet and knitting...
One day I've finally received a lovely yarn! I'm so happy I've found By Wool shop where I found this yarn! The delivery time was about 2 weeks and a cheap delivery charges as well as I love the nice prices for the yarn.
Here it is my lovely colorful variegated yarn! Lolipop by NAKO from Turkey.

NAKO Lolipop

I love love love the color combination! So I've immediately started to knit beanie for my little Alisha. Despite the fact that I was not knitting a long time.

Rainbow Ridge Beanie

I think the picture below shows you the real color of the yarn.

Rainbow Ridge Beanie 2

More closer look.

Rainbow Ridge Beanie 3

A 3.5 mm needles.

Rainbow Ridge Beanie 4

And 3 mm needles for the elastic bottom border.

Rainbow Ridge Beanie 5

For this beanie I was inspiring by Rainbow Ridge Beanie on Ravelry and I've a little managed the pattern and I've started to knit from the top of the beanie with 10 stitches. Then I evenly increased until I reached 90 stitches. This amount is enough for my 3 y.o. daughter with 48 cm of her head circumference. Also at the bottom of the beanie I made 7 rows for an elastic edge working 1 knit, 1 purl, etc. And I was working with 2 needles instead of circular therefore the beanie has a seam.
Now I'm knitting a garter stitch scarfю

Also I made two granny beanies for my both girls. I found the tutorial a while ago and finally I've used it! :))   It is a very interesting pattern. We are starting crochet with a pentagon and then it transforms to a circle. Take a look at Revlie's blog and see at the tutorial and much more interesting things as well as make sure how interesting and funny she says about it.

For Alisha.
Granny Rainbow Beanie Alisha 1

I've used a different DK acrylic yarn: Stylecraft Special, Sirdar Bonus, Robin, Nako Astra, King Cole Gentle Touch and Pricewise and Patons FAB.

Granny Rainbow Beanie Alisha 2

For the 3 y.o. I finished the increase when I reached 72 stitches. A 4 mm hook, and a 3,5 mm hook for the edge.

Granny Rainbow Beanie Alisha 3

and... and... and... I can't resist and made the cowl with the same color scheme.

Granny Cowl 1

Granny Cowl 2

Granny Cowl 3

Granny Cowl 4

The size of finished cowl is 52cm x 14,5 cm. For the size I've started with ch 84 joined in ring and made 16 rounds in total.

Granny Cowl 5

And the beanie for my oldest daughter Anastasia. For the 53 cm of head circumference of my 8 y.o. girl I made increase to 81 stitches.

Granny Rainbow Beanie Anastasia 1

Usually she does not want to be a fashion model for the crochet things I'm making for her and for that I'am angry at her. She wants to wear it, and be photographed - no...

Granny Rainbow Beanie Anastasia 2

This beanie has the same color scheme as one crochet set I made in spring and which you have not seen yet. So... I should find these pictures...
and... and...
here they are:
Rainbow Mittens and Scarf.

Rainbow Scarf and Mittens 1

Rainbow Scarf and Mittens 2

I finished them on April... When a Blossom Tree in our garden was in blossom!  (is it a pun?)

Rainbow Scarf and Mittens 3

Ohh ... and on these photos I see that my daughter was happy to be photographed!

Rainbow Scarf and Mittens 4

A 4 mm hook and acrylic yarn.

I should say you that the pattern I've used I found at The Green Dragonfly blog. I love this blog! Here is a pattern for the mittens and for the scarf.

I can not believe that I wrote so much!!! I never tell you how long time it took! :))

See you next time!
Have a great weekend!

Tiny Squares Small Bag and Granny Stripe Set

A tiny square small bag was completed for a short time and already presented for my daughter's friend and I almost forgot to take pictures...  :)) I've done them just before we were leaving our home to go to the birthday party.

Tiny Squares Small Bag 9

Work in progress. How it was.

Tiny Squares Small Bag wip2

As I wrote earlier I was fascinated by tiny colorful squares from Franciens Haakwerk blog. So the first two rounds I made as it described in the blog above. In 3rd round in white color I made 2dc, ch1, 2dc as a corner, then dc in each of next 6 st, etc. The 6 completed squares I joined with a slip stitch to make 2 rectangles. Then for both rectangles I made a border in hdc in each stitch(in back loops only) along the 3 sides and with 3 hdc for the 2 bottom corners. Then I joined together rectangles with sc. Then I attached the strap and made final border round in sc for a sides of the strap and for a top of the bag.

A few weeks ago I made this set of  Granny Stripe Headband and Mittens. My daughter was a model, but the set also is a present for her another friend. I'm so happy that I have the ability to make different crochet things for presents!

Granny Stripe Headband 1

It's all for today!
I'm very glad to see new followers of my blog. Thank you!
Have a wonderful week!
Till next time......
