Granny Squares, Granny Stripes as well as a few WIPs!

Ta-dah! My new bolero is done! Warm! Soft! Nice! The yarn I've used for this project it's a giveaway I won from the Bearpaw blog.

The pattern is here, it is DROPS design, very easy project. I very liked the pattern. I'm planning to make a couple more of similar bolero.

Also I made a cowl from leftover yarn. Just granny stripes.

Ch 224 for beginning, then join to a ring.. Then 3dc-cluster in one stitch, ch 1, skip 3 stitches,  repeat around. In following rounds - 3dc-cluster in ch-1-space, ch1, repeat around. That's all.

I like!

I never had before an infinity scarf(cowl) and I very like to wear it, it is so comfortable!  Therefore I made another one using a diferent pattern, today I show you only a piece of it...

Now I'm working on a round tablecloth for my mom. The size of my mom's table is 100cm in diameter, so I need a huge circle to made.

So far I made 20 rounds of 62. ... I never made any tablecloth before and I like the process although it goes slowly...

Today we have a sunny day! After a rainy week...
I wish you also a sunny day and a wonderful beginning of the new week!

Striped Bag

I have a lot of last time finished projects which you have not seen. And I have a very little time to show you them here... I'll write about them gradually. And today about bag. Here is the first Hexagon Bag for me, here is my third Rainbow Bag from previous post. And now it is time for my second crochet Striped Bag!

As many of us I was inspired by such bags as this bag and this, and many more...

I've used each type(color) of dk cotton yarn I found at my home.

A 3.5mm hook. Don't like to crochet with the size of hook less then 4mm. But... but... but... I had to do it!

So I think it turned out not bad.

The bag turned out pretty big and the volumetric. It looks nicer when I put in it a lot of things. It's not easy because as usual I have in my bag a few things - a purse, a mobile, a lipstick, napkins. So sometimes I put in the bag an additional scarf to have bag's look more bold(is this word suitable here?).

Today I was doing a few pictures of my square shrug(or bolero) and of one additional thing I made from the remaining yarn and I'll show you them next time...

I wish you a nice start of new week as well as a good weather and a good spirits!
Your Olga

Granny Stripe Shrug

Today I received a yarn from Pavi Yarns online shop. This yarn is for my bolero finishing, do you remember my post about it? The yarn I bought is merino wool Cygnet Superwash DK, so the Cream color(shown on the picture below) is a little different(more yellow) from the Cornish color of Rooster Almerino DK which I've used making bolero. Although I'm happy! I will make a border completely from the new yarn and I'm thinking it will be nice.

As well I have one more thing to talk about - it is my new warm Granny Stripe Shrug. My inspiration came from here. The yarn I found in my still a large stash. It is Nako Angoramatic 35% Mohair/65% Acrylic yarn I bought in Latvia last summer while I was there on my holidays. For edging I used a black 100% mohair whose age is approxomately 25 years. Can you believe it? :) My mom bought it when I was a young schoolgirl, and a few years ago my mom presented 3,5 skeins to me. :)

With a 4mm hook I made chain 174 for beginning.

In second row I made 3 dc clusters in each third stitch and ch 1 between them. So I did until I have enaugh my yarn. By the way I had 3 clusters till the end of the row and my yarn was over... I continued with black.

The shrug is very warm! I could say it is as well soft... but no... the yarn is a bit "biting" especially the black.

Yesterday I finished my youngest girl bolero which I will show you soon. Now is a time I have not any projects on the go except for a big-big blanket called A Granny a Day which I'm not crocheting a long time. I'm a little tired of this grannies. Now I'm thinking about my new project.

Have a nice week!
See you soon...
With love
Olga

Golden Shrug

Golden Shrug. back

Let me introduce my Golden Shrug!
I've finished it a while ago. Today was the 1st time I wore it. And only today I made the pictures. Actually, my husband and my oldest son were photographers. The pattern's name is Maui Shrug, it's the description I've found here. The yarn is a blend of cotton and viscose, and the strand is a little bit slick, so it was uncomfortable to crochet. I took a 5mm hook.

A little bit blurry... front view

On the bottom of the sleeves, I made 9-DC-shells and 1 SC between them.

Tracery...

A long long time ago I've planned to make a shawl using this pattern.

Did you ever think -  a shrug could be a SCARF! :)

Golden Shrug. scarf?

My shrug-or-scarf without a white border yet.

Golden Shrug. scarf??

What do you say? I like it!

Golden Shrug. back 2

About my previous post's bolero. It is almost done! I've joined all the squares and starting to make a border and... my yarn in Cornish color is over... So I'm waiting for a parcel from an online shop. To be honest I can't wait for the day when it will arrive... As well I'm thinking about leftovers of that yarn... Maybe it will be a granny square cushion? Or ripple cushion?

 It's all for today...
I wish you a wonderful weekend
and
I wish you
to have LVE in your heart!

Yours Olga-Soleil
